Gabe is a first-generation American who grew up in the borderlands and saw his mother work hard every day to support his family. She showed him the value of hard work and the struggle that it takes to achieve the American Dream. As the first in his family to be born in the United States, he’s made the most of his opportunity and has worked hard to make a positive difference in his community and in the lives of others.
Gabe won the most competitive Democratic seat in Congress in 2022, and is running to be a champion for working families and build an economy that benefits everyone. In his first term, Gabe has traveled across every corner of his vast district listening to the needs of his constituents. He is committed to working with all members of Congress to create high-quality, good-paying jobs, lowering inflation, ensuring all New Mexicans have access to affordable and high-quality health care, and conserving New Mexico’s public lands, wildlife, and natural resources. Gabe is a fighter for women’s access to reproductive health care, immigration reform, and organized labor. The work won’t stop until all New Mexicans have fair and meaningful opportunities to raise happy, healthy families and pass on their traditions to the next generation.
