New ad launched today in English and Spanish, calling out Vasquez’s work to crack down on predatory pricing, bring down the cost of housing, and protect healthcare from extreme MAGA cuts
LAS CRUCES, NM– Today, Gabe Vasquez for Congress launched a new digital and television ad for the 2026 cycle, called “I Get It.” The ad, airing in both English and Spanish, shines a light on Vasquez’s bipartisan work to crack down on greedy corporate landlords to bring down the cost of rent and housing, as well as his fight against extreme MAGA cuts to healthcare for hardworking New Mexicans.
“I get it. I was raised by a single mother. I know how tough it can be to pay rent and buy groceries,” says democratic nominee and NM-02 incumbent Congressman Gabe Vasquez in the ad. “That’s why I worked with Republicans to stop corporate landlords from buying up New Mexico homes and jacking up our rents. But I stood up to Republicans when they cut Medicaid and put our hospitals at risk. I’m Gabe Vasquez, I’ll work with anyone or stand up to anyone to help New Mexico.”
Vasquez remains committed to working with — or, when needed, standing up to — both political parties to deliver what is best for New Mexicans, earning him a ranking as one of the most bipartisan members of Congress in the country. Gabe is the only Democrat to have won New Mexico’s 2nd Congressional District twice consecutively. In 2022, he beat incumbent Yvette Herrell by the tightest margin in the country (0.7%). Last cycle, Gabe again defeated Yvette Herrell, this time by 4%— the same year that Donald Trump won the district by 2% — making him one of just 14 Democrats to win a district that went for Trump in 2024.
